Airport worker was killed when fell down the elevator shaft while attempting to evacuate from an elevator stuck between the third and fourth floors due to an improperly maintained door opening mechanism.  

Settlement with County prior to trial: $200,000.

Verdict rendered against elevator company at trial: $450,000.
